DDE client driver for OpcDbGateway and SAEAUT UNIVERSAL OPC ver 1.00 has been released

Configuring although thousands of DDE items easily, DDE data exchange with OPC servers, OPC clients, device communication drivers, office applications, PLCs, LabView, Simulink ..., monitoring, storage into process databases, alarms, logging, reports.

Integrating of communication over DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange for MS Windows) to a software application can be very laborious if thousands of DDE items have to be read or written. Proper configuring tool is necessity in this case.

OpcDbGateway from SAE - Automation is universal platform enabling integration of complex or easy software applications preferably by configuring instead of more laborious programming&lt. SAEAUT UNIVERSAL OPC Server is tool for easy development of dedicated OPC servers. Both products use common configuring and programming practices.

The new DDE client driver for these products enables to integrate functionality of different applications with built-in DDE servers to a complex integrated application. The most appealing feature of the product is probably the enhancement of the base configuring applications for OpcDbGateway enabling effective configuring of the communication with one or more DDE servers.

Using DDE client driver, it is easy to connect different devices in production process trough DDE servers, or connect MS Excel to create digital dashboards. Defining DDE items by choosing of cell range in an Excel sheet enables to connect it very easily to OpcDbGateway.

Fire alarm system for a big building can use thousands of sensors and actuators. There are fire alarm systems using DDE servers to connect to HMI software. It would be very laborious to connect all those sensors and actuators one by one. Having possibility to define index ranges for DDE items e.g. [1-1000] enables to configure communication with thousand DDE items in one easy step.

The configuring efficiency may not suppress flexibility. Because of this, the DDE client driver offers possibility to configure all standard DDE functionality alike as if you would use programming instead of configuring. Preconfigured function blocks enable using of DDE request, poke, execute, hot-links either for group of items or for individual DDE items. You can configure level of logging of DDE functionality using standard logging system to a log-file or database.
